OEM sourcing
In an OEM project, the buyer provides a defined design, drawing, brand or performance specification. The supplier network evaluates the required process, tooling, materials and verification before commercial terms are confirmed.
ODM sourcing
In an ODM-style project, the buyer starts from an existing product platform and adapts selected features such as cable length, connector, color, label or packaging. The exact boundary between OEM and ODM should be stated in the quotation.
What changes project cost and MOQ
Material, tooling, color matching, branding, packaging, testing and document requirements can each change MOQ, sample work and production timing. These terms should be quoted against the approved specification rather than presented as one number for every product.
