Is the fuse ampere rating enough to select a DC fuse?
No. Check the applicable DC voltage rating against maximum circuit voltage and the interrupting rating against available fault current. These are separate from normal load current. Record the exact fuse part number and the conditions supporting each rating.

Does a fuse that physically fits prove the holder is suitable?
No. Specify the permitted fuse family and size, terminals, conductor size, enclosure and ambient conditions. Request assembly-level temperature-rise or derating evidence for the proposed configuration before accepting a continuous-current claim.

What information is needed when a load has repeated startup pulses?
Provide the pulse waveform, duration, repetition rate, expected number of cycles and operating temperature. Ask for the exact fuse family’s pulse guidance and application review. A steady-current comparison alone does not resolve repetitive-pulse suitability.
